Snorkeling at Looe Key

Heading back up the Keys from Key West we got a chance to do some snorkeling and WOW was it great. Looe Key is about half way between Marathon and Key West on the south edge of Hawk Channel. As soon as we picked up the mooring I looked over the side and saw the Goliath Grouper swimming under the boat. The water was about 70o which is pretty cold without wet suits so we could only stay in for about 40 minutes before getting too cold but in that short time we got to see some awesome fish and took our waterproof camera under water for the first time capturing some great shots. Check out the 2013 Photos page. However as great as this was I think it just piqued our interest for getting over to the Bahamas.
